How Deep Breathing Detoxifies Your Body
One very effortless way to keep the body cleansed and disease-free is to oxygenate your body. This is a breath technique in which you fill the lungs with wholesome oxygen. Did you know that deep breathing is one of many natural ways you stimulate your body’s natural detoxification function?
Air is plentiful and free. Regrettably the oxygen we breathe is dirty in a few places, so be heedful of this fact. You won’t want to practice your breathing practice waiting on a busy street waiting for the bus. It’s always best to do your oxygenation technique at home, inside or outdoors if it’s in a clean environment.
Do your practice by standing tall and straight. Next, take in a long, slow, soothing breath, filling up the abdomen until you feel it could erupt. Keep in the air as long as you’re able (never, ever force it), and then gently expel the breath out your mouth. Do a total of 5 to 10 inhalations and exhalations in this same way.
Over time, you can modify this practice by bringing the arms over your head during the inhale, then gently lower your arms on the exhale.
Deep breathing moves oxygen into your blood stream, which transfers it to the cells, tissues and organs of your body to nutrify and cleanse them of toxic material. Increased oxygen in the body stimulates blood flow and circulation of the lymph fluid through the lymphatic system. Both of these circulatory systems are key workers in our body’s cleansing capacities.
