Intelius Makes a Difference through Philanthropy
Charity giving is among the core values of the public records provider Intelius Inc., a Bellevue, Washington-headquartered online business established by entrepreneur Naveen Jain and wife Anu. Particularly famous for their philanthropic work, the Jains do not only practice their social responsibility on a personal height; they believe it to be also a significant business venture. Through the leadership of the couple, programs have efficiently infused their philosophy in their company. Among those programs is a corporate matching program, which lets the company match the contributions of its employees to foundations for up to $250 each year. Another program gives Intelius Inc.’s workers the privilege to do volunteer work at local selected charities, with the 12 hours spent converted to a paid leave.
Aid groups that have been supported by Intelius are mostly those that are addressing issues on the youth, education, medical care, and family. Just last year the company raised about $250,000, distributing it to a diverse collection of local and national nonprofits.
Some of these groups are as follows:
- Seattle Children’s Hospital,
- Bellevue School Foundation,
- Overlake Service League,
- Olive Crest,
- Eastside Domestic Violence Program and
- Children’s Hospital Circle of Care
Intelius has also sponsored a scholarship program to the University of Washington amounting about $170,000. The scholarship program is intended for Computer Science, Engineering, and Business majors.
The CEO himself admitted that like any other business, it aims on being financially successful. However, what is more significant for Intelius is its respect to its core values as well as the understanding that it is only as good as the communities it does business with. “It is with this knowledge that we work every day to be the best neighbors we can be,” he added.
As a result of its successful efforts, the Puget Sound Business Journal has recognized the company as among the top corporate philanthropists.
