Caring Souls Understand that Sharing Great Expectations Is Valuable for Meeting Singles

I cannot say I’m pleasantly happy being picky and be 100% truthful. But, I’m not unhappy with the reality of life, either. I only bring it up here as an appetizing detail foreshadowing what I will shortly discuss honestly.

A week ago today I was walking the dog, Trisha, thinking of joining Great Expectations Dallas. Today, I stand to the blogosphere as a delightfully single member of the singles network. For real, I am. I like it! If you know me at all, perhaps you’re thinkin’, “You got some ’splainin to do, Lucy!”

Well, I saw this Great Expectations Dating site and felt encouraged. They’re for quality and professional singles who think dating should have a point.

Because in all honesty I’d never been interested in the ridiculous nightlife ritual a lot of singles call “The Dating Game.” I faced it all the time. Each night readers pester, “Are you two serious yet?” and “Oh I know just the guy for you!”

“That’s rubbish,” I say to them, smiling ear to ear. “Take a look around, I’m not missing much.”

“You’re as ridiculous as you are hilarious,” they say. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

Thankfully, that’s my partner in crime The One-And-Only hah! Trisha Feldman. She sets rational thought to my brain to set me straight. Caring souls are always there for fresh advice. She made a good point, and I thank her for it.

Coming home to the meaning of this post. As I picked from more than three hundred outfits (hah) and desirable, honest singles for my first singles event with Great Expectations, I realized something true. For the longest time, I hadn’t allowed myself any emotional great expectations for dating and myself in the adventurous journey of life. Being single isn’t so bad, especially if you use the freedom to date. Having great expectations works terrifically in dating.
